Thanks Lonnie, i thought it went that way sence the filter kinda fit into that end of the spring.
As for the tank, i pressure washed it for a good hour or so....the gunk.white slime coming out was disgusting. i dumped about 7L of tank cleaner my shop teacher bought me, hopefully a couple hours sitting, soaking, then shaking..repeat will clean things up further
