The only other thing I can think of is maybe you have a vacuum leak at the throttle body shaft. When I rebuilt my carberator (also a model "B") I noticed a lot of slop where the shaft went thru the throttle body. I took it to a machine shop and had them put new bushings in to tighten it up.
