Thank you all for your replies. I already know that most 292s have a taller deck height and that really isn't my question. Does anyone know for a fact that the information regarding the casting number is wrong? Hard to believe a casting number would be off, a stamping I would find easier but a block casting? Never seen a casting number be wrong before. The motor is in good shape- a good runner not needing rebuilt.
