Babe, I've tried NOS from Classic Chevy and replacements from Jim Carter, both had out casings that were too short to make the connection between the axle and the frame mounted bracket (almost taut with the axle supported, no give for axle movement while driving). The cable itself seems long enough.
I'm installing the right side the same as the left is assembled. Not sure why my truck is different.
