Welcome carl k, the non integeral heads are not all created equal, the compression can be changed by using differnt casting numbered heads,
inliners.org has a good article on casting numbers and chamber size, if your not stuck on using a head from a 250 you might consider using a head from a 194 cu in motor as the chamber size is smaller and will raise the compression.
