For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 217 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 217 | I went to start up the 46 with the 216 after it had been sitting for maybe 2 weeks and noticed there was no oil pressure. I shut it down, checked the gauge, a stewart warner, and it moved after i pumped air into it, ran it with the oil pump boss open with no oil coming out. I finally took out the distributor and primed the pump with a drill and allthread rod cut for the pump. It spun freely for a few revs but then caught and i could see oil going up the oil pressure gauge tubing with pressure now reading on the gauge. I ran errands on the truck all weekend with the usual 10 to 15 lbs of oil pressure no problem. Could this be a sign of future trouble or is this a common occurance???
Thanks Rick...... | | |
