I've seen 292/TH400 combinations that worked pretty well together, mostly in step van or 1-ton service truck applications. I don't think they were original-equipment. One round track race team I worked with used a retired bread truck set up that way to tow the race car trailer to the track. We had a pretty well set up mobile shop in the truck.
