54Forever: I have the same problem, mine a little bigger since I have all the system, including the pedal gone. Anyway, the dilema you have is what puzzles me more, where does the cable connects to a lever to open the pads. I wrote a
Thread in which I posted pictures of the rear axle without the pads. You can clearly see the hole where the cables go to but no additional lever, except for the four that grab the friction pads. The picture shown of the 3/4 ton is not the same as 1/2 (you can check that on you parts book). Not that I'm glad you are on this predicamente, but it sure feels good I'm not alone with that problem. We will very glad if somebody could post a picture, as Danny's, but from a 1/2, it would mean the world to me, and I guess you too. Here are the photos again.
