I was reading the thread where a Fella was asking about replacing the motor mounts without removing the engine. Basically, all Posters said it could be done without removing just about anything.
I'm down to the frame and have the front end off of the Blue Funk. Im in the process of doing a KBS treatment on the frame. The frame is supported in the front by 6 jackstands: 2 on the front near where the shackle attach and 2 under each cross member. That may be Safety Overkill, but I have a Phobia about being crushed.
Anyway, my queston is: Would it be a prudent idea to lower the frame while supporting the engine and tranny? That way, I could get to the areas of the frame where the engine and tranny rest for cleaning treating, and painting.
Would a floor jack with a block of wood be sufficient enough to support the engine and tranny? Or do I need acouple of more jackstands?
