We've got a local painter that also taught auto body at the vo-tech, that started losing his eyesight to Diabetes until he got it under control. He was painting a car and someone else pointed out to him that he had a run. He went back in with a blow nozzle and used it to flow out the run and blend it in with the surrounding area, undetectable when he was done. Never seen it before, likely will never see it again. I know I personally wouldn't even attempt such a feat for fear of making it worse. In your case, what I likely would have done is to stop where it ran, as it was in a sealer coat, let it dry, and fix the issue. I think if you had tried to wipe the excess it would have made more mess that still wouldn't have been topcoat ready. To be honest, If I'm leaving runs, I'm not spraying topcoat that day as something is going on that needs fixing, whether that be eqpt or the operator just needs to come back another day. Now if the run is in the topcoat, then that can be more easily repaired......
