Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 Riding in the Passing Lane | | Riding in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 | The Carter W1 came on practically all the Stovebolts from the early 30,s through 49. It was used as a replacement after that. The YF Carter carb was used as a replacement mostly for 235 engines. The W1 used a piston type accel. pump while the YF used a diaprahm. The 216 & 235 have different mounting spacings so the carbs are not interchangeable. I like the W1 best myself but the repair kit has to come from a specialty supplier. The parts stores don't list them. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum | | |
