Hey George, Yes I've tried all of those things. They are lubricated, moving nicely and i've removed the bumpers, supports and screws and tried closing it. I guess I'm back into bodywork and adjusting the lift gate where it attaches. I'll take a video of the hinge so you can see the upward movement as it closes.
