It's possible to fabricate a fake foot start pedal by putting a push button under a spring-loaded rod through a piece of pipe mounted to the floor. The original-equipment accordion boot will hide the fabricated assembly and it will look like the original setup. Making the 327 fit and work right will be considerably more difficult.
