The diaphragm used on the YF has a convolution; this means a steam die to reproduce the parts. The Carburetor Shop buys their diaphragms for the YF from the same suppliers (there are two) as every one else; and thus obtains the same material as every one else. Steam dies are EXPENSIVE and require LARGE quantity sales to pay off. I have requested both manufacturers to use the fluerolastimer (sp?) nitrile rubber compounds, but so far, neither has done so; stating insufficient demand, and significantly increased cost.

At this point in time, the large suppliers are scaling back on carburetor parts production, not increasing their production; again due to demand.

Steam dies are not in the budget of The Carburetor Shop.

Jon.

The most expensive carburetor is the wrong one you attempt to modify.
