The R-45's will work fine. The only difference is the current flow in the secondary wiring, and there's less of a tendency to burn distributor cap contacts, rotor tips, etc. with the resistor plugs. At one time, there was a problem with using a resistor-type plug along with GM resistor wire, called "TVRS" wire, but the advice changed in the mid-70's at the GM training centers, and we were told to use resistor wires and resistor plugs together. As long as the resistance of a plug wire does not exceed 1,000 ohms per inch, the resistor plugs will work as well as, or better than the original types.
