As with so many of the old trucks, the metal tape from my windshield regulator unit was missing. I was able to push the pin loose, and get the crank portion to work properly, but...no tape. I spent a lot of time looking and pondering, and finally found just the right piece of metal in one of my many junk boxes. It's the metal from a pipe joining (or leak stopping) band. There is a rubber band about 4 inches wide that is designed to fit over a 4 inche pipe. Around the band is a piece of metal about 3 inches wide, and with screws on each end. The band is of spring steel, and can be cut to fit quite well as the necessary tape. It is drillable. Just a suggestion for those in need.
