Hey Ron, I would drill the crank and add that bolt even if you don't add the compressor.
If you located the power steering pump on the upper right side of the motor, you might have a problem finding a compressor mount kit that will work.
If you are running an alternator mounted high on the engine the space where the generator was located could become the new location for the compressor but you will need to fabricate the mounting brackets.
The other alternative would be to put everything in the proper location according to the manual which makes the hunt for the correct brackets much easier.
