| | | | Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 39 Member | | Member Joined: Oct 2001 Posts: 39 | Hey JF, well I gots a suggestion slash experience.I have a 65 with a 292 and it also had the old gimpy 3 on tree,I switched to a Saginaw SM-420(at least thats what they told me).But its a saginaw out of a '67 chevy.Well It running great lots of power on take off,only you cant use first but still its great except for top speed 55.If you go this route youll need to change the rear end to 3.73 I havent done it yet because of lack of time.Im a teen so I like to go fast not stupid fast but close.This tranny bolts on very easy with the same bell housing and everything.So this is just a suggestion. :p
