Got exactly what I was looking for here/THANKS FOLKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a 74 International AWD Loadstar with 17K miles that I was going to restore until under the factory double frame I found a section of the mainframe rusted out. If I can't get scap value for the truck/$600 I may pull the engine & transmission ( 345/5 speed) & look that over as a possible swap.. Those 345's were nice... The automobile transmission swap had me doubtful though now I'm SURE its a bad idea.My neighbor has a tired 3 yard payloader with Detroit power & when the transmission on that went he put a 350 Chevy with TH350 in it & has been using it for 3 years now & it works as good as ever. That was what got me thinking/looking down a bad road.... The Allison truck transmission with matched engine idea needs some thought too/THANKYOU... I'm sure I'll be back with more questions. This heavy truck/GMC world is all new to me....
