I have it out of the truck and the truck has no gas tank at the moment so I can't just ground the sending unit lead to check it. It's a six volt gauge from a 56 gmc. Years ago (back when I would have bet lots of $ that I would not own the truck this long) the gauge did work after I changed to a 12v system. I had a voltage reducer on it and when it did quit working I just cut wires off the gauge and forgot about it, not knowing if the gauge or reducer went bad. Now that the truck is getting fixed up a working gas gauge would be nice. I would like to test it before I lay out more $ for a "new" gauge, Thanks
