I'm old enough to remember the last of the Flathead V-8's in the 1950's.Nice looking engine all dressed up with aluminum heads and all those chromed covers on the head bolt.
A stock flattie could whip a Chevy 6 in a drag race,but when both where modified,the Chevy could be the winner,just ask Frank McGurk or Bill Fisher,if they were still alive
.And if you ran a serious 270 or 302 GMC 6,those Flatties couldn't stay with you even on a tow chain :p .
