On a recent trip with a buddy to the parts store for his F*$d, I was looking in the "help" section of the store and just happened to see the tool, and it was $5. So, I decided to buy that along with a speedometer cable for the '54. Came home, got the handles off, sprayed lots of penetrating oil on everything and scraped out the slides with a pocket knife. It seems that over the 20+ years the window hadn't been used the stuff that lines the slides, or some sort of sealant, had collected and was keeping the window from rolling down. The gears had also rusted significantly on their pivot points. But I got 'er done and it rolls down really easily.

Thanks for the help.
