The PO of my truck was a farmer somewhere in ND. I think the truck was an off road farm truck most of its life. Anything that wore out or broke got welded together.The rear leaf springs were broken & welded together. I guess he didn't know that those little ends on the shackle/spring bolt were to put grease in because the shackle tube going through the perch wore right through it so the spring came up & hit the bed floor.PO stuck a carrage bolt in the spring & welded it to the perch. One rear shock was the original factory sprial, the other had been replaced and was held in with a carrage bolt with the nut welded to the bolt.The best one so far is the steering arm was broken in half, so PO welded an overlaping rod to the side of it to save buying a new one. What I thought would be a year project is turning into 2-3 if I don't keep finding other things welded in place.
