| | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,097 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,097 | The unit that CPP (and possibly others)carries is about as close to a bolt on as you are going to get. It resembles the original style with a control valve and a ram cylinder. The stock drag link is replaced by this unit and the ram bolts to the front axle and the tie rod. As far as I know they can be used on both a 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton. The weakness is that it supplements the stock steering box so if your box is not great it won't be either. They are also quite pricy. I had one and did not care for the feel on the road. I have installed The Toyota steering conversion on both series trucks and found it to be a vast improvement. However it is not a "bolt on" and is not cheap. It is great to drive though.
