Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 27 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2011 Posts: 27 | My '62 Chevy 235/6 was equipped with a worn out 3 speed manual trans with column shift. I have an overhauled S10 5 speed that I would like to use; it has the requisite shifter location and even has a new 14 spline 9 inch clutch disc with it. I've read through the tech tips and understand the basics, but so far I've been unable to find a reference that specifies a 60-66 235 install. Various sources say that I need to shorten the input shaft by up to 1/4 inch. I've also read that I need a spacer to bolt up to the bellhousing; but another source says that it bolts right up. I have a new stock pressure plate and throwout bearing. Will they work with this install? I could use some good advice here. Thanks, Bill
