Very interesting Jerry, that's just the kind of documentation that I need to convince me.
That takes it out our hear say and puts it into “I rest my case.” Can you believe it, I used
to drive my teachers nut in school with the same sort of questions. Thanks for not givin‘
up on the subject.

I've been back over 1R-115 for the 1118200 series dated 1-6-49 and 1R-116 for the
1118300 series dated 2-8-49 several more times and that statement isn't in either one of
them. Makes me wonder if both contacts were the same on the earlier regulators, my
guess would be tungsten, then at some point in the early 50’s some bean counter laying
awake brain storming one night, figured out he could save a nickel on every unit by only
using tungsten on one contact. As we’ve seen many times, they were notorious for
figuring out ways to save a penny here and a penny there. Those pennies times a million
added up to profit and probably a bonus for the guy that thought it up.

Any remote chance you could post a copy of that Bulletin 1R-117 for all eyes to see???
I’d like to have a copy to add to my research archives.

And once again I gotta mention, that it would be nice to have those 10 pages submitted to
Keith so it could be posted with the other D-R service bulletins archived at TOCMP.
Then we wouldn't have to go thru three pages of discussion next time this comes around.

Thanks to the digital revolution and people like Keith Hardy it’s now possible to archive
these documents before they’re lost forever, but the first step is to get it to his desk.
