I recently bought a 3 speed transmission for my 1947 1/2 ton truck. The guy I bought it from told me it did not have a shift knob. I told him not to worry because I have 2 - 4 speed knobs. Well when I got the transmission the shifter does not have any sign of threads on it to have a knob screw onto it. My neighbor said that these trucks had a pinch clamp on the side that held the shift knob on with. Is this true or did the threads get cut off somewhere in the past?
