The glass tape covers three sides of the glass center of each pane is sealed by the divider bar rubber. The outside seal I bought from Steele Rubber Products which I think is way superior to any others. I tried to install my windshield and had it all together and overtightened the divider screws and cracked both sides. I took the frame to a glass company and had them cut new ones and install. I did install the outer rubber using Dawn dish soap. My frame was new as well with no fit problems.
