Use a socket not a wrench on the bleeders. When you get it out, replace it with new - they are not expensive.
Connect the flex hose to the wheel cylander and then connect it to the steel line. Don't twist them up - especially if you are re-using an old line (which I never ever do). You'll put stress cracks in the rubber which can lead to breakage when you really stomp on the brakes, ie, when you really need to stop quick and you don't want them to fail.
