I have a Fuji 3 stage turbine. It works great and very convenient. However, I could never completely get the orange peel out, no matter how I adjusted the gun. As best as I can tell the gun is a decent one (also have three tip sizes). In places it did OK, but I had to be especially careful of speed and distance. It just seemed like the system would not atomize the paint enough. I'm not sure if it made a difference, but the paint spec (PPG Omni) called for 55 psi at the gum, the Fuji has about 11 psi. I mixed the paint "thinner" to compensate. It worked great for my motorcycle but for my truck I just couldn't consistently get rid of the orange peel (did it three times). The fourth time I used a regular gun/compressor combination and it was way better, no orange peel and it was much easier to control, especially the clear-coat. Also, spraying into difficult to reach areas worked much better since I got better atomization and "power" without running the paint. Since I'm new at painting, it could easily have been my ineptitude with the HVLP system or possibly the paint characteristics. I do know for painting large surfaces I like the regular system much better.
