I have run both and both worked very well. I have HEI in now and like the way it starts and idles, both of which it does better. As far as running down the road, no real difference, at least from what I can tell. I still have the points set up, don't think I would ever use it again, the HEI is fool proof as far as I am concerned, and since I have to live with it, that all that matter to me.
