Here are some pictures of my 1950 Chevy 3100. While I was working on my '56 over the winter, I had just put it back on the ground a week earlier when My good friend called and said THIS IS THE CALL. I said what? He said you know when we are at the shows and you say to someone "If you ever sell that truck call me first will you!". Well this is that call.
https://picasaweb.google.com/100461...hevyTrucks?authkey=Gv1sRgCNmbqYWO35OnFg#I could not believe that he was selling his baby. He asked if I wanted it as he has a long list of names from over 5 states. I told him 2 hour and 15 minutes. 15 min. to hook up the trailer and 2 hours to get there. He said tomorrow was good and he told me the price and I said see you early.
I think this truck is a rare opportunity. To be able to purchase a truck from a friend and one so anal about detail is a great opportunity! The Quality, paint, the options are just wonderful. We had been going to show for over 10 years, so I know this truck.
The truck is a 1950 3100 from Kansas. 52 doors (he wanted vent windows), 54 box sides(allows flat rails for cover), 5 window. Corner rear window are 54 (Wanted factory tinted when AIR was added)(Note the etched glass) Engine is a used 350 engine totally rebuilt with a (I believe)'79 monty factory intake. Power steering, power Brakes, Air, Tilt column, and fartory Radio (it works). The Interior was done in Traverse City Mi (very very nice). The carpet and seat are covered with towels when riding (no one has stepped or sat on the carpet or seats since redone). You will see may custom made clamps, bracket and switch holders. The front end is from a 73 Nova, 73 Trans Am rearend (got my pontiac stuff in), and 350 Auto Trans. Wife drove it and said it rides better than her new Grand Cherokee.
When I got home, it was spotless inside and out. My entire restoration so far was to fill the gas tank. I love it and get goose bumps just looking at it. I tell the guys at the show - If you look up Sweet in the dictionary, they have a picture of this truck. Paint and color combination is great and unique. My unbiased oppinion? Tom Duffy
PS I have personally thank him four time for selling me this truck.
