One other thing to look at is the gasket at the heat riser.
...pic... My 235 had an exhaust leak; you can see evidence of the leaks in this pic.
...pic... I had to take the manifold to a machinist for a little mill work. You can inspect yours with a straight edge.
With the manifold split you can torque in sequence between heat riser and manifold.
