I rebuilt my carb and was getting ready to install it when I got stumped. Attached is a picture of what I think they call the insulator block, the bottom of the carb, and the gasket that came with the kit. It looks like the gasket is not right. Can anyone enlighten me on this?:

Also, I found this piece of screen between the bottom of the carb and the intake manifold. Does anyone know why it might have been there? You can see the gummed up gasoline in it:
