If you hadn't said the kingpins were new, that was going to be my guess. The '46 1 ton pickup my Dad had when I was a kid had bad kingpins. It would vibrate something fierce around 40 mph but then smooth right out again at about 45 or 50. We used to joke that that was when the guardian angel jumped out!!
