For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | | MikeR Unregistered | | MikeR Unregistered | This engine has 167000 miles on it. It is an original 1966 283ci V8 that came with the Suburban. When last driven in the late 70's to early 80's the owner kept cardboard handy to prevent staining driveways. When towing it to my house, it leaked. Here are some pix: oil leak 1 https://picasaweb.google.com/108235...Gv1sRgCOKa1L7i2OHfXQ#5672730910112098866oil leak 2 oil leak 3 oil leak 4 What's the best course of action? Valve cover and oil pan gaskets? I would like to reduce the leakage quite a bit without a complete overhaul. I'm hoping for some interim fixes to get it running and not dumping all the oil before I leave the driveway. Mike | | |
