I believe the 59 rod has a ball on the end that fits in the upper hole in the foot pedal. The other end is threaded for some adjustment and attaches to the bell crank. The thicker part that is near the pedal has a bend that should keep it centered in the firewall hole as the pedal goes down.I believe that there is only one hole in the block to mount the pin for the bellcrank. The shop manual has a pretty good pict but I don't remember what page and I think Denny Graham has some shots of his engine that show the bellcrank and throtle rod with return spring. also a nice clip for the spring on the oil pan.
