On the side of the canister at the top fitting, the word INLET is stamped and the pressure gauge line is at the end of the hose coming from the bottom of the can. There's no way I could have gotten them mixed up because the bottom is female at the end of the hose and the top is male where it goes into the fitting.
I put the neoprene gasket back on the bolt and tightened it extra tight and now I'll go try it again and see if I can tell exactly where it's coming from.
