Did you really clean up the grounds and get them tight? Star washers will help and the frame must be ground clean of paint, then you can cover back up with a little grease or petro jelly.
HRL, I thought 12 volt coils came with internal ballast resistors, and 6 volt coils did not. So there are 12 volt coils without resistors?
