My 1956 GMC goes back to 74 when a buddy of mine bought it in Kearney Ne. He drove it back to Chadron Ne and had his brother get it running condition. He sold it to me in late 75 and I have been driving it since. Several times over the years I have threatened to sell it but my wife wouldn't let me saying that one day you'll fix it up. Well someday finnaly came and the project has started. To date the breaks have been all re-done new, the engine came out last week and is at the shop. My guy at the shop figures that the truck is original miles at 58000 by the engine wear. When I bought it odomiter read 24000 and has always worked. The low miles might be attribted to the fact that it apears that someone made it into a snow plow and it must have sat for months at a time waiting snow. The plans are to get it running again , then start on the body work. I'm sure I will be posting many questions in the near future to help with the rebuild. Thanks
