In my personal experience...I think that you have too much pressure in the break line to just run some kind of fastner. I think that you're going to have to have threaded fastners. The line that your talking about runs down the frame and connects to the rubber line that goes to the "t"? That piece of line should only cost about $5-$10 tops. Just replaced all of my brake lines. The only line that costs anything considerable is the rubber intermediate line, and thats only like $35. I wouldn't cut any corners on costs or parts for brake lines.
