I go back 45 years and wet sanding seemed to go faster and reduces the sanding dust, Dry sanding seems to require more sandpaper, and or more stopping and uncloging the sandpaper, and more dust. Kinda hard to wet-sand if there's a potential for water to get where you don't want it. Also with dry-sanding, if you need to re-prime, less time waiting for things to dry out or have water show up when you spray. In the end I don't think one way is better than the other, just depends on your situation. Did you spray a guide coat? Another tip, after sanding, you can wipe the surface down with grease and wax remover and any flaws will show up, big time. Just make sure theres no orange peel! Good luck!
