I’d try driving it back. Take your time and see the country. With lots and lots of breaks to let the bearings cool down. Check them very frequently at the beginning of the trip. First stop would be at the local garage and have all the fluids changed and bearing repacked. View the trip as an adventure with getting the truck home just a bonus.
