Thanks for the info. I'll set the cam bearings first making sure the cam turns freely as advised and set the crank to 0.0015. I did get some shims with the kit. It is amazing how these little slivers of brass do so much.
Quick question, my oil pan has machined divits where the oil pan bolts go through leaving just a little gap between the pan and the block surface. Is this gap ok and when I paint the motor will this pose a problem getting paint inside the block???
