Always install the cam bearings first, with nothing else in the block. It's hard enough to get any oil holes aligned with the passages in the block with nothing else in the way. It's almost impossible to see what you're doing with the crankshaft in place. Be absolutely sure all the cam bearings are installed straight and the cam turns freely in them before doing anything else on the buildup.
