Hi Jerry,
I'm not determined to throw money down the toilet, just thought I might have a bad lifter. I've adjusted the lifters but, having been the first time I'd done so, I pulled one first to see if they were solid or Hydraulic. Because I'm curious, and a little soft headed, I dicked around with the retaining clip on the one I pulled and the thing came apart. I put it back together but thought maybe I had broken the thing. I cant tell for sure if that's the one clacking or not but its a good chance it is (one of the front two). When I initially looked up lifters online they ran about $5 each (the NAPA website search). At that price I thought I might just change them all out. I thought maybe changing them all at the same time would be preferable to just changing one. Thank you for the advice on the rockers. I'll take a good look at them for wear. Maybe one new lifter just to see if I messed one up. Short of that I suppose I'll look for a replacement cam and lifter set.
