Ok, first DISCONNECT THE BATTERY before proceeding. I assume you did not remove the ignition switch. Since you already addressed the temperature sending unit, I won't here.

1) Connect the two wires that were conneced to ammeter. I used a bolt and nut. Wrap the connection real good with electrical tape.

2) You will need to cap the oil pressure tube or you will wind up with a floor full of oil.

3) Reconnect the battery and it should start.
