OK, I replaced the water pump (twice) after NAPA sold me the wrong part. Now I am fully aware of the difference between a short shaft 5/8 pump and a long shaft /16". I also took note of the weep hole never noticed that before!).
Anyhow, I am ready to start this engine up, wish me luck.
