Have you checked out in a Shop Manual
for the procedure for "replacement" of a hydrovac unit? Your 1952 would most likely be the same as for a 1951 (in the linked-to manual).
I followed a similar procedure for a 54 GMC hydrovac and it works fine (my first experience with a hydrovac).
