On the conversion kit to put a 283 in a 50 do you have to cut the crossmember part as well as the end pieces? I think my buddy said we would have to cut about 1 1/2 " off the end pieces that go on the frame and some off the tube crossmember part. Don't want to cut and mess things up. Also it looks like the crossmember is going to have to go just about over the axel. Sound right? Thanks....Virg
